WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms)
Dear Friends!
I would like to introduce you to a wonderful organisation called WWOOF www.wwoof.org.uk (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). For 45 years it has been putting organic farms and people, who would like to work as volunteers on organic farms, in touch with each other. In the last two years we had 25 - 30 WWOOFers coming to our farm! Majority of them are young people and university students who stayed with us for a few weeks (some for a few months!) learning how to milk cows and goats, how to look after pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and other birds, how to grow vegetables and fruit organically, how to make compost and cook nourishing meals, and how to look after bees. WWOOFing provides great benefits for the volunteers and much needed help for the farmers. Apart from young people we had a few families with parents and children, who had a lovely time on our farm while learning important life skills.
